How do I become a Certified Hypnotist?

There are many good schools and organizations with Hypnosis Certifications. One of them is The National Guild of Hypnotists, Inc. (NGH). 

The certification is Certified Consulting Hypnotist. The Certified Consulting Hypnotist practices Consulting Hypnotism, Non-Therapeutic Hypnosis. 

This Profesional Hypnotism Certification is usually around 100 hours, 80 in person, 20 hours coursework, presentations, and online. The cost varies between Can$1,700 to Can$3,000. Which is a good price, $17/hour to $30/hour for a professional training. 

It is important to clarify that a Consulting Hypnotist, a Hypnotist, is a person who is not a Health Care Profesional, and therefore he or she does not do therapy. 

When hypnosis is used to do therapy is called hypnotherapy. 

In many countries hypnosis is self regulated, meaning is not regulated by the government but by the Hypnosis Organization that provides the certification. 

The rules and regulations about how can call himsel a hypnotherapist varies in different countries, provinces and/or states.  

The NGH always advice members to call themselves Consulting Hypnotist, to show that we do not do therapy, we practice Consulting Hypnotistm, Non-therapeutic Hypnosis  and that we are professionals in Hypnosis.
